The SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 is a new ultra-compact, high image quality USB fingerprint reader that is FBI Certified and meets FIPS 201 (PIV) and FAP 20 Mobile ID requirements. Featuring a low-profile, one-piece design, the Hamster Pro 20 is built with the industry's most rugged and advanced optical sensor using patented and patent-pending fingerprint technology.
SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 works together with SecuGen's MINEX Certified Template Generator and Matcher to develop PIV-Compliant biometric applications. The MINEX Certified Template Generator and Matcher are available in a variety of SecuGen SDKs that may be downloaded for free.
SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 also supports the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) right out of the box for:
- Quick and secure fingerprint login to PCs running Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012
- Added biometric security when purchasing and accessing apps purchased from the Windows Store on Windows 8.1

** Smart Capture ensures quality fingerprint scanning of difficult fingers. By automatically adjusting the brightness of the sensor, Smart Capture allows the Hamster Pro 20 to capture high quality fingerprints from a wide range of traditionally difficult fingers, including those from dry, wet, scarred or aged skin, and even in bright ambient conditions such as under direct sunlight.
